Hollywood Bad Taste Follies
By Kyle | January 14, 2008
Hollywood doing without the Golden Globes? Why, it’s just like the Fall of Saigon! The supposedly humorous photo illustration above, which ran in Daily Variety last Friday and is now running on Variety’s Web site, made me wince. Not to cast a pall over the cancelled fabulousness that, at best, consists of a shadowy group of swag-seekers handing out meaningless awards, but millions of people were terrorized and murdered when the Communists overran South Vietnam. The illustration is approximately as funny as running a picture of the World Trade Center collapsing while a car salesman in the foreground says, “Our prices are plummeting!” Variety, do the right thing and apologize for this awful illustration.
Here is the undoctored photo, by the way.

[...] 1) Comparing the cancellation of the self-indulgent Golden Globes ceremony to the fall of Saigon. [...]

I even find it offensive that the network “Air America” uses the name Air America. But yes, this is disgusting.

It’s funny what neocons and rethugs get offended about. Torturing and killing almost a million (1,000,000) innocent iraqis doesn’t, jokes about the golden globes do. Go figure.
The only good thing about the bush regime is that the republiKKKan party will forever be out of power.

Jokes about Ann Coulter’s father dying? NOT funny. Jokes about Ann Coulter tucking “her” balls in? Hilarious! It’s called PERSPECTIVE, people (left AND right)…get some!

ANY group of people who find Larry the Cable Guy funnier than George Carlin is obviously suffering from a severe taste/wit disorder!

Oh! I guess what Rainlillie means is that it’s okay, and therefore funny, when Communists kill people, but it’s not okay when for Americans to help prevent that. I get it. Very sagacious.
Also, isn’t “almost” a million like, 999,999 or slightly less and not 1,000,000? You figure that if 1/27th of America’s population disappeared everyone would notice, but I guess Iraqis didn’t, cause their government says that it’s closer to about 50,000 war deaths mostly killed by terrorists and sectarian violence. That’s about how many people Saddam killed in 6 months in 4 years.

“Torturing and killing almost a million (1,000,000) innocent iraqis”
An *ahem* ‘interesting’ figure. Where did you get it from?

The above post wasn’t made by me “rainlillie”. For the last few months someone has been using my screen name to post nasty comments on various blogs. The same thing happened last week if you’d like to see what I’m talking about just go look at this thread.

I have contacted the site owner regarding this matter and he said the post will be removed. All of my Views can be found on my blog.

So whoever was using Rainlillie’s name lacked the courage to blog under his own pseudonym, I guess.

I clicked on the link to read Rainlillie’s blog. It is very obvious by the word choice that an imposter on this blog posted under Rainlillie’s name.
Why is this behavior allowed on this website?
Usually I just read this blog, never posting a comment. But this time I felt compelled to say something. Even though visitors are not required to identify who they are, they shouldn’t be posting under a false name. Doing so diminishes the integrity of the comment section. And as we all know, a blog is only as good as the comments posted. Shame on the imposter for tainting the integrity of this website.
