Rave for “Avatar”
By Kyle | December 16, 2009
My colleague Lou Lumenick is wowed by “Avatar,” which he reviews today and gives three and a half stars. He also put it on his list of the ten best films of 2009. I was hugely impressed by the CGI, which is indeed a grade above anything I’ve seen before, and thought the character motivations in the Dances with Wolves-ish script were well-established. James Cameron has created a crushingly beautiful and intriguing world. But the third act, to me, wasn’t as successful as the rest of the film. Lou’s review is up.

Correction. James Cameron had the rep to get the money to hire hundreds of the best artists and buy the technology to push his agenda driven project.
I’m very sorry to hear that it was successful, as we can now look forward to a lot more of this cr*p coming down the pike.
