In my Sunday column, I wonder whether hacked emails from the University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit will spell the end of the liberal cap and trade scheme in Congress.

Cap and trade. The main thing I’ve learned in my hours spent in liberal arts education - progressives believe any problem in the world can be solved by taxing the living hell out of it.

I’m afraid the answer to that question is no. On some level these people want there to be global warming so they can save the world. I’m quite sure if someone could convince Al Gore that a significant chunk of warming was due to natural climate variation and we don’t need to take any action, he’d actually be disappointed.

Why am I still shocked to see the MSM write stories about Obama going to Copenhagen and not mention:
* Much, if anything, about ClimateGate
* The fact that major media outlets like NY Times, BBC and McClatchy all wrote recent stories about how the earth hasn’t warmed over the last 10 years.
Context, baby. Context.
