Review: “William Kunstler: Disturbing the Universe”
By Kyle | November 13, 2009
I was pleasantly surprised by the evenhandedness of a documentary on radical lawyer William Kunstler made by his daughters. Kunstler was a character; as a cub reporter at the Post from 1993 to 1996, I quickly learned that four people you could always get on the phone to comment about anything were Kunstler, Trump, Dr. Joyce Brothers and Ed Koch. Anyway, once I asked Kunstler, who would back any anti-establishment cause and publicly backed O.J. Simpson, whether he thought O.J. was guilty. He said, “Off the record? Yes.” The documentary credits Kunstler for backing the underdog but also castigates him for taking such revolting clients as El Sayyid Nosair and the men who bombed the World Trade Center in 1993. My review of “William Kunstler: Disturbing the Universe” is up.

Kunstler’s disciple, Ron Kuby, is always good for a quote. And he’s a nice guy, too.
