ABC’s “V” Versus Obama
By Kyle | November 10, 2009
I thrilled to the pilot episode of ABC’s new open-ended series “V,” in which the smooth, cool new alien leaders arrive on Earth promising transnational peace and free healing for all. What’s not to love? I consider the series’ satire of Obama in this essay. Don’t miss the second episode tonight. I’m also excited about AMC’s “The Prisoner,” a six-episode miniseries that starts Sunday.

Kyle,
As I watched the pilot last week, the moment he said “You’re talking about…universal healthcare?”, I knew a posting by you was not a question of if, but when.
I enjoyed the pilot overall, despite a few moments where the dialogue seemed pretty weak and the teenage son character who was unbearable.

Sorry, I’m afraid I am not a spokesman for my company.

Can the producers cope with being insulted at parties? Can they stand up to withering looks? They’re Democrats. Scott Peters is a Canadian. (And I know, he’s an American citizen now. But he was a Canadian until only last year.) Is he going to stand his ground, and have the courage to ignore the jokes from his family and friends? These guys will cave. They’ll give in. Somehow they’ll convince themselves that “mindless devotion” is exclusively for Republicans.
