President Bush For Life? Okay by Jenna!

    By Kyle | June 3, 2007

At last night’s HarperCollins party at the trendy Asian-themed Chelsea nightery Buddakan, First Daughter Jenna Bush, 25, was chatting amiably to promote her upcoming book, “Ana’s Story: A Journey of Hope,” about a 17-year-old single mother living with AIDS in Panama. I can’t vouch for this since I wasn’t there to hear it myself, but what are blogs for if not to pass along gossip? A passerby told me he overheard Jenna saying, “Everything would be okay if only my dad were president for life.” (Or words to that effect.) Supposedly a People reporter was there taking notes but I haven’t seen anything about this on People.com. I assume that if this actually happened someone closer to the horse’s mouth than I was will be posting it.

White House daughter smackdown! It is physically impossible that Jenna’s book will be worse than the barely-freshman-comp-level D.C. wonk “novel” by Kristin Gore, “Sammy’s Hill.” Don’t believe me? Use the Amazon “surprise me” feature to check out any random page! I haven’t cracked Karenna Gore Schiff’s “Lighting the Way: Nine Women Who Changed Modern America,” but it appears to have that homeworkish quality of most things Gore (and was published, like Kristin’s book, by Democratic party boys the Weinsteins). You’re up, Barbara!
