    Obama Blunder Watch

    By Kyle | April 1, 2009

Now he’s giving the Queen an iPod (tacky! or is this an April Fool’s joke?) and referring to Britain as “England.” Oops.

This will be the final posting on the topic of our president’s embarrassing gaffes, boo-boos and blunders. I hope.
UPDATE: According to this report, Obama loaded the iPod with Obama’s own speeches. The vanity and arrogance of this man are making me woozy. I picture the Saudis who wake up every day going, “This land used to be called Arabia. What’s with the Saud family renaming it after themselves?”

Oh, and the situation is not at all the same as the Queen giving Obama a portrait of herself. The Queen, to an extent, is the custodian of the nation. She is not a temporary figure but someone who serves until death. More at Big Hollywood.

Tacky it may, but is it anywhere near as tacky as the Queen giving him an autographed picture of she and her husband?

Nah, the Queen’s portrait is a) personal b) one of a kind (or at least one of a few of a kind) and c) very valuable. The iPod is none of these things. The DVD collection Obama gave Gordon Brown was even worse — literally useless on a UK television set.

Lets get this gift giving on a roll. John Adams the miniseries for Brown and maybe History Channel’s “The Revolution” for the Queen.

Even better would be PBS’s 13 part history of the Revolutionary War. Who knew the Amwericans lost almost every battle in that war? You guys were lucky Ben Franklin got the French involved - you lot couldn’t fight your way out of a paper bag!

The Queen is an anachronism, the world’s biggest welfare queen. Her entire family is a joke, but the Queen is a bigger joke.

A signed photo of the Queen-what is she, Jim Shatner at a Trekkie convention?

Admit a bias-the Irish in me doesn’t much care for any royalty. Still I love Britian and the English, but I’m at a total loss why they haven’t told the Windsors to get out of their government-funded homes and get a real job.

More revisionist history from Hunter. It wasn’t the Americans who won the Revolutionary War, it was the French. And they didn’t even win. Right. The same way they didn’t save England’s butt in two World Wars.
