Was John Lennon Gay?
By Kyle | December 7, 2008
In my Sunday column I ponder the meaning of a comment in the new John Lennon biography that speculated about the possibility John Lennon had sexual feelings for Paul McCartney. Who made the comment? Yoko Ono.

Anyone who would shack up with Yoko is either gay and trying to cover or simply insane.

20 years ago, when I was a teenager, my nephew (he’s roughly the same age as me) had some dirty magazine from the mid-70’s.
I guess in the 70’s, dirty mags had something of a celebrity chic to it, which might explain why there was a small article about Paul McCartney (yes, I actually read parts of it). In it, they asked him if he would partake of the sexual freedom of say, Mick Jagger and/or David Bowie.
McCartney, politely, but non-PCishly, basically scoffed at the entire notion. You could almost think of Sir Paul doing a Mr. Roper limp-wrist motion while he answered the question.
I always wondered what he would have said had that question come up in the PC 90’s or later.

Anyone who says that John Lennon was gay is crazy. He was a brilliant human being with some wonderful ideas of what life should be about. Shame on you for thinking such a horrible thing.
