    Media Mull Obama Iconography

    By Kyle | November 18, 2008

    Boiling media controversy!

Should we compare Obama to the greatest president–or the greatest president? Come on, boys, settle your differences: just agree to call him the Savior. Oh, and maybe read up on FDR a bit–the parts about how he prolonged the Great Depression?

      Kyle,

I just showed this to a friend of mine and he asked a logical question. Are these for real or is this some sort of shenanigins?

This post reminded me of part of a Jeremiah Wright sermon: “Jesus was a poor black man . . . .”

Those are the actual covers of Time and Newsweek, side by side on your local newsstand.

Would it not be considered racist to super impose a white man’s face on a black man? Just curious. I imagine they had to talk themselves out of having a cover where he was nailed to the cross with a title “On the 8th day He created Obama.”

I guess we can compare Obama to Lincoln. After all, they both had/have big highly visible facial warts in common if absolutely nothing else.

Let’s start construction on a fifth face for Mount Rushmore while we’re at it. Who needs to wait for Inauguration Day?

Are any Obama supporters just a tad creeped out by this? Hunter?? Hello???

what?? You want to insult The One by putting his face up next to those of two slaveholders and a guy who shot innocent Cubans on San Juan Hill???? Tear down Mt. Rushmore and start over with the Rock of Barack!
