    By Kyle | May 27, 2016

Like most Scandie ideas, this one is terrible. More in a column.

I seem to recall Venezuela also recently implemented a shorter work week…right before the entire economy collapsed and starving people started eating dogs and birds in the streets. I’m not entirely sure that’s the economic model other countries should be emulating.

I’m not getting the “The 32hr work week is bad because most people want to work more time” thing.

I worked a 32hr/wk job (being paid 32hr worth of salary at the old rate) for the last 5 years in order to also work on a project I wanted to do. It gave me a living wage while I was setting up my own business and made it easier to do so. In reality, I probably worked 50+ hour work weeks.

I think the thing you should have concentrated on was that moving everyone to 32hr with the same salary is in effect a government mandated wage boost. Yet another example vote buying at the expense of the economy. One that gives you a double boost at the polls because you’re paying off the parasites while also lowering jobless rate – which normally reduces the “misery index” but in this case would increase it as businesses when bankrupt.

      That’s precisely what he wrote:

“the city council has implemented 30-hour workweeks for the Svartedalens nursing home workers, with no reduction in pay, meaning an effective hourly pay raise of 33 percent and necessitating the hiring of extra employees to make up the slack”

Cassius Clay was a racist and became a confused muzzy. But in the 70s, Ali relished in the life of a superstar even befriending Jews like Howard Cosell. He even endorsed Ronald Reagan for prezdint in 1984 re-elect bid. He repented for his anti-American rhetoric and association with radical Negroes.

      RIP Cassius Marcellus Clay, Jr.
