    Stephen Colbert Isn’t Funny

    By kyle | April 11, 2014

My column on why Colbert is a poor choice to replace David Letterman has been no. 1 on the Post’s site all day.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. Even back in the days when I enjoyed watching Jon Stewart, I didn’t think Colbert’s shtick was funny. All he does is push liberal talking points by sarcastically fake-criticizing them in the dumbest way possible. Which somehow proves that conservatives are dumb, I guess.

Not only that, but when he does take off the sarcasm hat, his arguments don’t even make sense. “Birth control causes pregnancy in the same way that fire extinguishers cause fires.” Hur, hur. In what universe does that analogy make any sense? Yet if you go to a lefty-dominated site like Reddit or Imgur, you’ll see leftists post a picture of Colbert making that analogy, over and over again, and it gets upvoted to like 5,000 points every time. Pathetic.

Obviously CBS et al doesn’t care about the conservative side of the audience which is demonstrated by Letterman’s angry ol liberal act the last decade.

The US has adopted the “everybody is partisan model” of the British press without the far more strict libel laws. This is leading to a mass of disinformation and H8 based on perpetuating lies and political fantasies. Given the important role the press is supposed to play in a republic, it will undoubted lead to some even more nasty unintended consequences for the nation as a whole.

Kyle, I sent you an email to your NYpost addy.

I’m going to be in NY in early September and was keen to meet up. Also, I wanted to pick your brains about the email addresses of various NY Post staff.
